So, What is EFT?
EFT - also known as tapping - is a gentle mind-body approach that combines light fingertip tapping on specific acupressure points with guided awareness and conversation.
Sessions are supportive and client-led, helping your nervous system settle, reducing stress, and creating space for greater calm and clarity. You don’t need to know what to say or do as you’re gently guided at your own pace.

About Me
Hi, I’m Irene Birks, an Accredited Certified EFT Practitioner with a background in human resources and leadership, and a deep belief that calm is something we can reconnect with even during life’s most challenging seasons.
I first discovered EFT years ago during a highly stressful time in my life. What began as a way to cope with stress became a powerful process of uncovering and releasing past experiences I didn’t realize were still affecting me. That journey reshaped how I understand emotions, the nervous system, and the lasting impact stress can have when it goes unaddressed.
Today, I use EFT as a gentle, trauma-informed approach to support emotional wellbeing and life transitions. As I now navigate perimenopause myself, this work continues to be an essential source of support — and it’s why I’m especially passionate about helping women through midlife, while welcoming anyone who feels called to this calm, supportive work.
This is the heart of The Calm Shift — creating space to slow down, reconnect, and move forward with greater ease.

I can’t recommend Irene enough! I did a 5 week EFT tapping session with Irene. We did one class a week for 5 weeks. We started off just figuring out what I wanted to release and let go of.
